I'm Laura Z., a 28 year old female with a true passion for mathematics and science. I have been tutoring for 10 years now and have had great success with my students, ranging from middle school to college-age, and non-traditional students.

I began tutoring by helping other students in my high school classes. In college, I worked as a private math and physics tutor with the Physics department at the University of Louisiana. I was then hired by the ULL Athletic Department to help fellow student athletes maintain high GPA's and academic eligibility. Subjects ranged from remedial algebra, geometry, trigonometry, to calculus, calculus-based physics, and chemistry.

In graduate school, I instructed undergraduate courses in Weather and Climate, and 'The Habitable Planet' in a classroom setting, teaching students about introductory earth science. In 2008, I took a position with the tutoring company 'Atlanta Tutors' where I worked one-on-one with High school and College students preparing students for exams, helping with homework, and lots of SAT, ACT, and GRE math test preparation.

I prefer one-on-one tutoring and enjoy engaging my students with fun and challenging math problems. I like to apply math to real world situations to allow my students to fully understand the relevance and necessity of knowing and using math in their everyday lives.

I have been a tutor with Wyzant Tutoring for over 4 years and have been a top ranked tutor in mathematics and science. Please contact me about any questions you may have! I look forward to working with you to reaching your GPA and test score goals!

Wonderful beyond words — Finding a tutor that can TEACH is really difficult, and then when you add the requirements of being kind, patient, and encouraging to the list, it seems that you have an impossible task. I was faced with retaking business calculus, and was terrified. I looked and checked into many tutors - many were just "kids" who'd already passed calculus and now thought they could tell someone else how to pass. ...
