I have been a student of Bible Studies and Biblical literature for over 30 years. I am certified as a Catechist (teacher) and Master Catechist in the Catholic Dioceses of Salt Lake City (Utah), (Cheyenne) Wyoming, (Great Falls) Montana, (Sioux Falls) South Dakota, and the Archdiocese of KC, Kansas. I have been a teacher of Bible Studies and Theology at St. Labre Indian School, at the Utah State Penitentiary, and in 17 different parishes, including cathedral parishes in five states.
I also studied Bible Studies and Theology extensively as an Oblate of the Order of St Benedict (Benedictines), and remain active as both a tutor, a classroom instructor, an oblate, AND a student. I have studied Greek and Latin and as a result can read the OT in original Greek.
As a CPA I have been using QB for over 18 years, including QB Pro, Premier, and Enterprise (including the Construction version). As an accountant my responsibilities have also included training bookkeepers and business owners how to use their particular version, and also advising companies on which version to purchase from Intuit.
I have a BS and MS in Accounting as well as a CMA (Certified Managerial Accountant).
My teaching style is to first assess how comfortable the QB user is in general computer use. If the student is relatively comfortable with computers, then I sit with them as they use the downloadable tutorial online.
If they have dabbled with QB at all, I will back up and find out what they have problems with - reports? Cost accounting? Printing checks? Balancing checkbooks?
The trick to being a good QB tutor is to make sure they are really looking for a tutor and not for a cheap bookkeeper.
