As a writing teacher, I am quite aware of the need for good communication skills, especially in the area of writing. As a teacher, I realize that it can be difficult for students to get the one-on-one attention they need to build foundations in English, which are very important. I believe that tutors should work with the students to make sure they understand the "whys" and not just the "hows". For a student to really succeed in any area, tutoring needs to be a partnership of the tutor and student communicating effectively and working together to see progress and understanding. And I also think that the learning process should be fun and engaging, not something that the students dread.
I have my four-year degree in Political Science with a minor in Journalism from Metropolitan State College of Denver, where I received a 4.0. I have been working with children of all ages for many years as a theater teacher with a community theater company. I also teach writing to Middle School and High School at a private school. I also tutor many other subjects such as political science, history, etc.
