I've tutored college algebra and, as a community tutor, many other subjects ranging in level from elementary to high school, but most of my tutoring experience has been focused on essay writing at a collegiate level. I have experience with creative writing as well, including stories and creative nonfiction. As a writing tutor for my university, the needs I addressed varied from grammar issues to basic outlining strategy, formatting, style, and overall persuasiveness.

I can catch typos consistently and well, and I have a good sense for what makes an essay more cohesive, more persuasive, and less generic. I am very familiar with MLA format, but I have the online resources to help with most other formats as well. If you're stuck and need ideas, I can help guide you through standard brainstorming procedures such as bubble charts, free-writing, outlining, et cetera; I can also give you research tips and help guide you to some of the most helpful websites for your chosen topic.
