My name is Dan, and I would be pleased to have an opportunity to help you learn. As a structural engineer of 22 years, I am proficient in mathematics and physics, and also have a strong aptitude for the English language, both reading and writing. I am also an amateur musician, with a good intuitive knowledge of basic music theory, as well as performance skills in trumpet, guitar and piano and vocals. I have many years of private tutoring under my belt, through friends and family, and have been quite successful in helping many young people gain understanding of the subjects they have the most difficulty with.
I am an intuitive and visual learner and tend to teach in that direction. I believe that real-life application of each subject is key to true understanding of the core concepts, and my professional career has provided me with a great deal of hands-on application of a number of subjects. I strive to explain concepts in a way that will engage the student and fuel his/her interest.
