Drawing

Drawing, beginning or advance. Drawing portfolio, keeping a journal can address a broad interpretation of drawing issues and media. Light and shade, line quality, rendering of form, composition, surface manipulation, and illusion of depth are drawing issues that can be addressed with a variety of techniques that could include painting, printmaking, watercolor, or mixed media. The range of marks used to make drawings, the arrangement of those marks and the materials used to make the marks are endless.

Painting

I have my undergraduate degree from University of Northern Colorado,double major, art/education k-12th grade also special education k-12th grade. Master of Education, Lesley College Cambridge,Massachusetts.
Learn more about color mixing,tints, shades, your choice:acrylic, egg tempera, dyes, silk painting with dyes, or water color. You will have a chart that will help with organization of color.

Intermediate(Third in importance one primary/one secondary)
Painting surface,hand made paper,silk,watercolor paper,wood,or your choice. Decorate your own postcard. Keeep a color mixing workbook of your color study. Your painting will it be realistic or abstract.

I have worked with study skills for secondary and postsecondary students as well as the upper elementary grades. This includes time management, notebook organization skills, a "To Do List", classroom participation, notes (Two-Column System, Three-Column System), audiotapes, SQ3R, organization and association, visualization of key words, study groups, rehearsal, general memory strategies, test preparation, general strategies for taking a test, and answering specific types of questions.

Approved Subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet certified in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
