I am currently working on my music composition degree and have maintained a GPA of 3.83. In my time at Pacific I have tutored for Pacific's Educational Resource Center assisting my fellow students in the areas of writing, grammar, ESL, English conversation, music theory, music history, sight singing, ear training. My experience on applied instruments began at age 6 with the piano, at age 8 I added violin and continued with both into college where I play with the University Symphony and am on a Performance Scholarship. In 2008-2009 I taught private violin students at Stockton's Zion Academy of Music.

In high school I competed in competitive speech and debate (2003-2006) to the national level and coached national finalists in theatrical interpretive events and top ranking national speakers in Lincoln Douglas Debate to their titles. I landed lead rolls in summer stock theater productions of Midsummer Night's Dream (Puck), Much Ado About Nothing (Beatrice), Taming of the Shrew (Bianca), Twelfth Night (Viola), with Colorado Spring's Back Yard Bards.

Additionally, I am the President elect for 2011 of University of the Pacifics Mu Eta Chapter of the Professional Music Fraternity Mu Phi Epsilon. In my 2 years as a part of this organization I have been instrumental in directing community service projects which have focused on fostering academic achievement and musical appreciation in students in elementary school through college.

Composition (Music)

I am currently studying for my Bachelors of Music in Composition at University of the Pacific (class of 2012). Ear Training

I am a conservatory student studying music composition. I have taken two years of ear training at the college level and it is a part of my daily activities in my academic endeavors.

General Music

I am in my fourth year as a conservatory student. In the past four years I have taken classes ranging from private instrument lessons, to history, to theory courses, to ensemble playing, and courses in computer music.

Piano

I have played piano since 1996. I was a Regional National Piano Guild Participant in 2004. I am currently a conservatory student at University of the Pacific and have continued taking private piano lessons with Frank Wiens and Dr. Rex Cooper at the university level as part of my study.

Sight Singing

I have taken a year of sight singing at the university level. Since 2009 I have tutored sight singing as a tutor for my University's tutoring center.

Violin

I have played violin since 1998. I am currently a conservatory student at University of the Pacific where I am on a performance scholarship. I study violin with Dr. Ann Miller. I play in the university orchestra and in chamber ensembles. I have taught violin for Stockton's Zion Academy of Music.

Public Speaking

I participated in competitive forensics from 2002-2007. From 2004-2008 I coached both acting and debate. Many of my students went on to receive regional and national titles and awards in the National Christian Forensics and Communication Association. I also was a regular contributor to the Lincoln Douglas resource and debate theory text book "The Red Book" (2005-2009) published my Monument Publishers on a yearly basis with updates for each new topic.

Cooking

My cooking experience has been at the knee of excellent gourmet chefs who taught me to be both a recipe cook and a "dump cook". I can confidently and successfully follow recipes, create my own, improvise substitutions when necessary, and maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment. I have successfully taught several of my college buddies cooking tricks and recipes.
