My approach to teaching is very straightforward. As a young teacher, I have an edge over others because of my ability to relate content to the particular interests of my students. While I was studying at Florida State, I taught a 10th grade World History course for my internship and had the opportunity to help students one-on-one before and after school. Once I attained my masters degree in Geography, I became a professor of Geography and have been teaching ever since. I love teaching! There is nothing more rewarding for me than when I have a student who "gets it" because of the way that I have been able to convey the content. Learning should be fun and entertaining and I am both when I teach and as a result my students learn.
While this will be my first official duty as a tutor, I have had experience tutoring friends of mine and friends of friends who have struggled with college courses as well as high school. My teaching degree in Social Science Education focused on 6-12th grade but I have taught 10 year olds all the way to 50 years olds (I teach my father new things all the time!).
I stand by my capabilities and have no doubt that if your child is struggling to retain anything under the social sciences, I will be able to help.
