I was involved in the Indiana University pre-college string program all through middle school and high school. It was very time comsuming with theory classes, master classes, concerts, and practice. I learned that without that extra time in, I wouldn't have done well as a music major! It gave me a head start for college, plus I got to travel a lot with the violin group I was in. College was a great experience for me. Because I had grown up in a teaching program, I had already lived the process. I took a lot of pedagogy classes, as well as all of the required music theory and history classes at IU. I began teaching at the age of 15. I'm qualified to teach beginners through advanced. With younger children, I strive to find unique and fun ways to learn about the violin that are appealing to them! I'm very patient and engage well with people. I love working with older students as well and enjoy watching all of my students grow as musicians.
