I worked extensively with student athletes at the University of Southern California's tutoring center. A majority of these students struggled with learning disabilities and therefore needed special attention. Moreover, college athletes, at times, have a negative attitude toward academics. To overcome these challenges, I introduced a host of different teaching methods. A teaching method I use to generate interest is relating the subject matter to something of interest to the particular student. For example, when I was teaching US Government to a football player, we tried to break down the various levels of the government in relation to different positions on the football field.
Another effective teaching method I use is flowcharts. When you break down concepts into flowcharts, students tend to appreciate the material better. And when we add colors to the flowchart, we tap into the student's photographic memory.
I love teaching and have worked with students from all backgrounds. I eventually want to get my teaching degree and teach pre law at the college level.
Subjects I can teach : Language Arts, Writing, Political Science, Pre-Law, Law
