I am a recent graduate of Cal State Long Beach. I have a B.S. in microbiology with a minor in chemistry, but have enjoyed learning and teaching other subjects. I started tutoring while in high school and have had the opportunity to adapt my teaching methods to various learning styles. I've tutored all age groups from elementary to college and have covered subjects from Spanish to Algebra.
I think the best part about tutoring is watching a student have that breakthrough moment where they finally grasp a concept that they have previously struggled with. For older students I find it more important to teach them how to study and organize their time. This is something that I have found is lacking in today's fast paced and technology driven world. No matter what the age group, I do try to make the subjects relevant to the student.
Aside from tutoring I spend my days working as an inventory analyst. My free time is spent working out and helping my coworkers get in shape. I love sports of all kinds and join in on the local mud runs and obstacle course races whenever possible.
