Hi Brandy, For this question you'll have to factor your polynomial. Start by subtracting 9 from both sides. You should then have: x^2 + 2x - 8 = 0 Now factor. The factors are (x + 4) and (x - 2). Therefore: (x + 4)(x - 2) =...

Update 08-01-14: I am currently enrolled at Western University of Health Sciences. I have availability after 5:30pm on weekdays. If necessary, I can meet on weekends too.

I graduated from UC Berkeley in spring of 2009 with a B.A. in integrative biology. My coursework included general chemistry, biology, statistics, organic chemistry, and physics as well as physical sciences such as anatomy and physiology. Furthermore, I enrolled in several rhetoric/English courses throughout my four years at UC Berkeley. I recently took refresher courses in statistics and biology this past year at Cal Poly Pomona. In high school, I took as many AP courses as possible. I passed all my tests with at least a 3.

I am currently tutoring as a way to make a little extra spending money. I am also willing to try online tutoring for individuals who are too far away for me to travel. If interested, please contact me and we can set up an appointment.

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I took Algebra in middle school, but the foundations I learned have continually been applied to harder math courses such as algebra II, Pre-Calc, and even Calculus, all of which I have taken and earned high marks.

I took algebra 2 during my freshman year in high school. I have taken subsequent math courses such as pre-calculus and calculus. I have been tutoring math since 2010 at college and high school levels.

I took AP Calculus BC in high school and earned a 4 on the AP test with a 4 for my AB sub score. I also took a year of college calculus at UC Berkeley.

I earned an A in each of my quarters of general chemistry and organic chemistry at Cal Poly Pomona in 2010-11, and I have been tutoring chemistry since since 2010 for high school students of various levels (CP, AP, honors).

Hi Christian, Lets define width as W and length as L. The first part of the question says that the length is 2in. longer than the width. Therefore: L = 2 + W The 2nd part of the question states that the perimeter is 24in. So lets set up an equation...

To find the inverse to a function, simply replace the initial positions of x and y (or in this case, x andf(x)). Then resolve the equation for f(x) x = 7y -6 x+6 = 7y y = (x+6)/7
