Hello!
I am a teacher and tutor with almost five years of experience helping students realize their academic goals. At the college level, I have taught introductory and intermediate composition, creative writing, and literature. I have extensive experience working with non-Native English speakers. I currently tutor students of all ages in English, writing, reading, test prep, ESl, history, and lower-division math.
I graduated summa cum laude from Hunter College with a 3.98 GPA. I was a double major in English and Cinema Studies, and was awarded honors from both departments. I was also elected to Phi Beta Kappa, the oldest and most prestigious honor society in the country. I then earned my MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Oregon, where I was awarded two Graduate Teaching Fellowships. Recently, I earned 99th percentile score on the Law School Admission Test (LSAT).
I specialize in helping students improve their writing skills. As a writing tutor and editor, I have helped thousands of students improve their grammar, write more clearly, and organize their ideas. My students consistently tell me how much more confident they feel in their writing after working with me. Some of the other subjects I teach include math, philosophy, psychology, sociology, classics, art history, and film. I also help students prepare for the LSAT, ACT, SAT, SSAT, and GRE. In my free time, I volunteer for 826LA, a wonderful program that helps students develop their creative and expository writing skills.
If you have questions, please feel free to contact me. I look forward to hearing from you!
