Testing is important and all students endure it, but it is not the most important part of the students education. Students develop goals and strategies based on their personal strengths and challenges. We work together to build on what they are good at and improve on the other subjects to an acceptable range to build grade and testing success.
Building good study habits and homework patterns early in the school year will help prevent burn-out, hopelessness, and drop-out-tendencies at every grade level. Don't get behind this year, get on top of the learning curve and earn better grades. As little as twice a week tutoring can help any student earn one or two letter grades higher this year, and pass those important exams.
LEARN to be a life-long-learner. DEVELOP your student's full potential!
I have 30 years K-12 teaching experience from small home schools to public schools and special education classrooms. I can help students excel. Students do not want the same experience from tutoring they get from school, so most sessions stress differentiated learning activities, games, and fun educational challenges! We work on learning about our "learning styles"; visual, auditory, tactile, kinesthetic, social, interpersonal, intra-personal, and more. The student is mentored to develop study skills which work well for them and coached to develop regular maintenance skills for homework and exam prep. I specialize in the LANGUAGE ARTS; reading, writing, editing, and public speaking, also technology, history, science, and career development are strengths.
I also have unique and fun ways to teach LANGUAGE ARTS and MATH and to prepare for TESTS; i.e., deal with testing anxieties that keep students from doing their best and coach them to prepare well for the event. I help students to study for and complete GED diplomas, also to get ready for SAT, ACT, GRE, and other higher education testing.
I welcome parents and students to contact me with their needs and desires for TUTORING K-12 and ESL students in Nuevo, Hemet, San Jacinto and the Inland Empire community. Prepare to make this your best school year ever!
