My son was having a hard time with Spanish. He struggled through Spanish I, and needed help with Spanish II. In came Stacey to the rescue! Within weeks, my son was back on track and performing well in the class. Stacey figured out quickly what type of learner he was, and built a weekly plan that forged his success. He has also used what he has learned from Stacey and applied it to his other courses to see the same successes there. Thank you so much Stacey!!!

Our son is a musician. He is unorganized and has a tough time focusing on academics. Stacey has helped him immensely. She is providing structure and strategy around studying. She is knowledgeable and relates well to our son. She is innovative and offers fresh ideas. Stacey is results oriented and engages our son in continued communication and followup outside of and between sessions. Stacey is always prompt and flexible with her schedule. She was a huge help at exam time, when she made herself available for extra sessions. Stacey is well in tune with the challenges our son has, particularly in Italian. Our son was struggling and was having a really hard time keeping up with a rigorous pace without understanding what the teacher was looking for. Stacey is well aware of various instructors' styles and methods of teaching and is helping our son learn to adapt and anticipate in order to stay on top of his assignments. His highest semester exam score, outside of music theory and band, was Italian. He finished the semester with flying colors and received comments from his teachers; "improving", "tutoring has been very beneficial". We can't say enough good things about Stacey. We just feel really fortunate to have connected with such an effective teacher.

Stacey helped my daughter raise her SAT and ACT test scores in the English/reading portion. She was very personable and my daughter took to her very well. She was able to show my daughter easy techniques that gave her more confidence on test day. My daughter raised her Reading score on her SAT almost 100pts, with only a week and half of tutoring. My daughter was very pleased with Stacey, and raised her confidence which was key for my daughter on test day.

My son was in Spanish 3 and making little progress with the language at that level. Stacey quickly identified that he was on the brink of understanding verb conjugations and knowing when to use which verb tense. He also needed work with vocabulary acquisition to increase his vocabulary as well.
Stacey gave our son a translation assignment from a children's book. This exercise of translating a children's book with the use of a Spanish dictionary (if needed) was instrumental in helping him connect to all of the out-of-context grammar lessons he was trying to absorb, and also improved and increased his Spanish vocabulary. Our son improved a whole letter grade and feels much more confident in class.
I would highly recommend Stacey. She is patient, fun and makes learning Spanish less intimidating.

Stacey is an excellent tutor! She always comes prepared and is willing to adjust her schedule to come on Saturdays as early as possible to accommodate my son. Stacey did a great job with my son. She worked with him on ACT prep. He just needed some skills to help him with his confidence about test taking. Stacey accomplished that by showing him tricks to reading questions, what to look for, and time management. She did a great job, and my son feels much better about taking the test.

Stacey L. is helping our 10 year old son prepare for the Independent School examination. We find that she is extremely patient and prepares herself more than adequately for each lesson, by bringing resources she has researched that will help our son even when she isn't here. Stacey constructs each lesson to suit our son's needs; there is no cookie cutter formula with her. Stacey is also trying very hard to make sure that my son's handwriting is more legible than his usual spider tracks. We receive detailed and timely reviews of each session. We would happily recommend Stacey L. for your tutoring needs; it is not for lack of her consistent efforts our son will fail this challenging test before him. We anticipate with both their efforts, our 10 year old will have a much improved chance of passing.

We moved to town and a new school mid-semester and Stacey has helped my son make the transition. She has done a great job assessing "where he is" and what he needs to work on.
