About me:
I am the Director of Research at the Institute for Faithful Research. I regularly publish written work in many areas of philosophy including: philosophy of mind, philosophy of religion, and philosophical theology. I have served as a guest editor of a peer review journal and have experience editing several books. I earned a BA in philosophy from UC San Diego and an MA in philosophy and theology from Biola University. It is my aim to work closely with my students so that they will develop the skills they need to excel to the extent they are able.
From 2007 to 2010 I served as the Director of Christian Education for a non-profit in San Diego CA. In this position I taught weekly courses to high school and college aged students. During this time I had a lot of experience working with students with ADD and ADHD. I have taught and tutored several subjects including philosophy, theology, biblical studies, psychology, writing, history, and Greek. Currently I teach courses on various topics in philosophy, ethics, and theology off and on.
Tutoring approach:
I take a middle of the road approach to tutoring. I believe that repetition and writing are keys to success. When I tutor, I encourage the student to work hard; you can expect your student to practice the same skill until she or he becomes competent at it. For writing and English tutoring, I focus on brevity, clarity, style, and competency.
I am able to tutor: writing (including business writing), editing, philosophy, logic, religious studies, English, and critical thinking.
If you are interested in being tutored by a research professional who has years of publication and business experience please contact me.
