I can teach you Chinese to help you survive in Chinese culture, and, more importantly, to enhance your understanding on the Chinese people generally, and how they do/view business.

If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra 1

I love math and think to solve math problems as fun.

When I was in middle school, one time I introduced our school's math program on a radio show.

After I picked a major that was irrelevant to math in my college, my math knowledge was still enough to help a TA of UCLA in their math class when I visited my friend there. And that was an algebra question.

What I really hope is by teaching math I can help young people with my experiences in studying math, so they can enjoy math later on as I did before.

Algebra 2

I love math and think to solve math problems as fun.

When I was in middle school, one time I was placed on a radio show to talk about our school's math programs.

And later after I left schools, I could still teach my daughter math despite that she was an honor student in math.

My interest in math helps my daily life all the way in making friends, in assisting my kid, and in getting the sale price fast when shopping. I hope by teaching more kids math I can pass my passion for math to these kids.

Chinese

Chinese is my mother language.

I was a good student in my childhood: I won in writing contests and school speech contests for a couple of times.

When I was young, I wrote short stories that were printed on newspapers in Taiwan.

I worked in law firm as a translator for two years, and as a reporter in an English economic news agency for two years. Such experiences bring professional color to my Chinese.

I started to have the passion for Chinese language and culture when I worked in investment business, since a part of my work that time was to help my clients to understand China and Chinese markets.

Elementary Math

In elementary school math is a pure skill training: on adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing. I mastered these skills fast because I was the third kid in family and tried to compete with my elder sisters.

My outstanding performances in math built my sense of honor, gave me a passion for solving math problems, not to mention what I learned in those years is useful in all my life.

I hope by passing my experiences in learning math to kids can help them to enjoy this subject as much as I did before.

Geometry

I love math and think to solve math problems is fun.

When I was in middle school, one time I introduced our school's math program on a radio show. I did lose a little interest in math during high school days when I found that I could not understand what our teacher was teaching. This experience helped me to understand how important a teacher is to their students.

However, my interest in applying my math knowledge and skills helped me all the way in making friends, assisting my own kid, and quickly getting the sale price when shopping.

Recently I pass WyzAnt's tests on algebra and geomety without problems.

What I really hope is by teaching math I can help young people to enjoy math as much as I did before.

GRE

I am a language worker between English and Chinese, for which work I have to know many volcabularies.

Math of GRE is not hard, however, the problems are tricky sometimes. One needs to get used to the way it puts, and thinks fast to save time during the test. It only takes practicing. Which is what I can help with.

Prealgebra

I love math and think to solve math problems is fun.

When I was in middle school, one time I introduced our school's math program on a radio show.

Why I did not pick a major that applies my math knowledge and skills is still a mystery; however, later I found what I learned was enough to help a TA in a college math class to solve a question raised by the students.

My interest in applying my math knowledge and skills helped me all the way in making friends, assisting my own kid, and quickly getting the sale price when shopping.

I really hope by teaching math I can help kids to enjoy math as much as I did before.

Reading

I taught my daughter how to study when she was young. She was an active kid with many talents; however, my tips helped her to stand out in class academically.

Every kid needs the recognition in class to keep his/her interest in learning.

Study Skills

I taught my daughter how to manage time and study when she was young. Today she is in UC Berkeley.

For foreign students who came to study here, they need to know lots of local customs, how to handle homework and tests. My experiences can be helpful.
