I have experience in a professional environment, as well as teaching/learning environments, for over two decades, both adults and children, including those with special needs. Going though college, I drove a school bus for a small route for five years and learned a lot about communication with various ages, as well as being there for them first thing in the morning and after a hard day of school. Many became family friends. I also have four years of substitute teaching at the middle and high school grades where many students and teachers requested me as a permanent sub, more because I was able to help the kids know why they wanted to learn the topic, built confidence with recognizing current abilities, and work through problems logically with them until the idea was understood. The "ah ha" factor is wonderful to pass on. Anywhere I have been employed, the same goes with my co-workers. I am told they value what I have shared and they have learned a lot. I was not even aware I was able to communicate difficult government accounting to those without the education background. I believe an hour of education can last a lifetime, and it keeps us going personally, and as a side benefit, professionally. Education is knowing how to get the problem solved, not so much just finding an answer; sometimes there is more than one answer and some are not so good in the end. For example, on a balance sheet for a company, you can have both side, debit, and the credits equal one another, as it should be. However, a line item, or two can be off by one cent to an endless figure and still appear to be correct. It can be in balance yes, but correct, no. I hope you give me the opportunity to share my knowledge and overcome any fears.
My professional background varies in many industries, I was asked to work at a tutoring company, but declined due to another job opportunity; I was found worthy to be a tutor there as well; working various software including proprietary programs. My major is in accounting, but I have done a lot of work in databases and modifications to them, QuickBooks, MAS90, all office products - all versions, accounting from bookkeeping to preparing for financial statements, as well as the above mentioned background in education, I am a well rounded person to absorb any knowledge from.
