Hi there!
My name is Katherine. When I am not tutoring, I work full-time as an engineer. I also like to surf and train for triathlons in my spare time.
What is my tutoring background?
Well, I tutored several students in high school. I helped my friend pass college level physics class, when he was failing after the midterm.
My big goal is to make sure that I understand what a student is struggling with and help them learn it! I find learning to be fun. I hope to share my passion for learning with everyone.
My education background includes having graduated in the top 10% of my high school class. I was also a four year varsity Letterman so I understand how challenging it can be to squeeze in studying! During my senior year, I took an received college credit for several AP tests. I was fortunate enough to get accepted into Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, where I studied Mechanical Engineering. I am currently pursuing a Master's in Engineering at University of Southern California.
My tutoring style:
During my first tutoring session with a new student, I work with the student to figure out where the student is struggling. I may ask to borrow some of their course material, which will be returned promptly after I make copies so that I may develop additional study tools. I always try to provide a positive encouragement. I will ask a student a lot of questions because I do not like to give a way the answer. I like them to find it.
I hope you got a little sense of who I am. I look forward to working with you or your student.
