I believe that everything starts with a story and you can learn how to make a story jump off the page. You need to know the rules before you can break them, so while I emphasize content, I also make sure your sentences follow the rules of grammar and composition. My undergraduate degree, in Theater Arts, is from UCLA. I have a Masters Degree in English Literature with a specialization in Creative Writing from New York University and my teaching experience includes eight years teaching Story Analysis and Development in the Entertainment Studies program at UCLA Extension. The class emphasized both reading and writing skills and we had fun doing the work.
I've spent my career reading and writing for a living, and have taught others many of the tricks I use to make their work both meaningful and entertaining. I like working one on one and also enjoy a lively exchange with individuals or in small classes. I don't think a tutoring session should be a slog. I want to hear what you think and find a way of getting the point across that works for you.
