I've been involved in music since I was five years old, starting out playing piano and performing regularly while growing up. I used to request to play on the harpsichord, because apparently I was a musical diva when I was young! I also played violin for several years and took private lessons as well as played in different orchestras and ensembles from grade school through college. Also, I played piano in jazz band, and played xylophone in marching band. I briefly took classical guitar and percussion lessons, and even taught myself how to play upright string bass to play in my high school and then college orchestra. After college, where I majored in music with an emphasis in composition, I taught piano lessons to young kids in group settings and at a school, where I taught privately. After working a couple different jobs, I made my way to graduate school where I've been in the process of completing my Master's degree in composition. Currently I'm finishing my thesis which is requiring a hefty amount of critical thinking, analysis, high quality writing and research. While in graduate school, I started working at a company where I was promoted from being an assistant to an in-house composer. I worked on many different video game titles, writing music and designing sound effects.
I would be a great tutor for young kids that want to learn how to play piano, because I am very patient, warm, friendly and knowledgeable. Also, I would love to encourage their creativity, like my teacher did with me many years ago. Also, my writing skills are excellent, and I would be able to tutor on reading, writing, grammar, and spelling subjects.
