My name is Michael and I graduated in May 2012 from USC with a major in Biological Sciences and a minor in 3D Animation.
I am a very curious person and I love to learn new things–regardless of the subject– and to share that knowledge with the people around me. I come from a family of teachers: my dad, my older sister, both of my grandmothers, and many aunts and uncles are all teachers. Growing up, I would often help my classmates with their homework because, since I had just learned it myself and was closer to their level, I could explain some of the concepts in ways that they could understand. Also, because of just the way my mind works and my broad range of interests and knowledge, one of my strengths is being able to make connections between different concepts and to help others see those connections as well.
When in high school, I taught drum lessons to middle schoolers and was the teaching assistant for the World History class one semester. I volunteered as a tutor while I was studying abroad in South Africa my Junior year of college, and I worked for three years as the lab assistant (basically a TA) for one of my animation teachers. I attended classes, helped students with their projects, and graded assignments.
Working with WyzAnt will be my first time working as a professional tutor, but I'm excited for this new opportunity to use my knowledge and experience to help others learn and grow.
