With over a decade of experience teaching and tutoring students of all ages and backgrounds, I have had the opportunity and honor to help many achieve their goals. I find it a motivating challenge to discover and apply the perfect personalized method for each individual student, always maintaining the patience and above all persistence. My goal is not only to transfer the knowledge, but to awaken the thirst for learning and provide the techniques and methods for my students to continue asking questions and finding the answers even after the class is over.
Throughout the years, I have helped a wide variety of students with different backgrounds and different needs for tutoring. When their need is based on improving performance at school, I've been focusing my attention on their school curriculum and helping find the best studying technique for their particular learning personality. On the other hand, I have had just as many students whose motivation was to excel in certain areas of linguistics, or literature, and either attend writing or spelling competitions, or just improve the skills they find useful for success in life in general such as debate, speech, conversation, or writing.
I earned my English Teacher BA at the University of Novi Sad in Serbia where I was born and raised, and I had this degree certified by the International Education Research Foundation, which deemed it "equivalent in level and purpose to the Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature and the teaching thereof, awarded by regionally accredited colleges and universities in the United States". This was acknowledged by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing, who has also granted me the preliminary teaching credential for English language and literature. The issuance of the teaching credential included the background check done on 01-06-2012. In the meantime, I have passed the California Basic Educational Skills Test, as well as all four sub-tests of the California Subject Examination for Teachers in English.
