I hold a Master of Arts and Education in Mathematics. I have been a math teacher for more than 30 years and taught students of grades K-12 Arithmetic, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1 and 2, Geometry, Trigonometry and Calculus. I have also tutored for most of my professional life. I work with my students on the various standardized tests including California Content Standards, SAT, ISEE, PSAT, etc. Based on my experience, I teach not only deductive material from textbooks, but also prefer to use mathematical forms and shapes such as prisms, cylinders, cones, etc. I show students how to work with posters utilizing interactive tools. My approach to help with homework includes a variety of materials such as flash cards, bingo fractions, math puzzles, math mania, brain quest, and games among others. My greatest professional satisfaction comes from being able to teach a struggling student to be confident that he or she can tackle and solve any problem on tests or homework. This confidence can only come from meticulous and tireless work on the academic ability of each individual student. This is what my experience would bring to your child.
