I have a broad background in English and Communications from which I draw upon to support my tutor activities. I’m also currently working as a Freelance Business Writer, and before that was Director of Communications for the American Lung Association’s LA office, which included administering their social media program. Prior to that, I was Worldwide Director of Public Relations for a large tech company, where I implemented all communications plans and strategies for their business units.

I've held a number of public relations positions at a major film studio, both in corporate communications and motion picture publicity. As an independent Communications Consultant, I've served customers in the entertainment, technology, healthcare and non-profit areas.

I'm a patient mentor and love working with students of any age who have the desire to learn, but need that bit of extra help. I have a BA in Journalism from Marquette University and studied in the MFA Cinema/TV Program at the University of Southern California, as well as Film Arts Foundation in San Francisco and the UCLA Extension Writers Program (for fiction and screenplay/TV writing).

As of fall 2013, I've started working with the Sherry Lansing Foundation Primetime LAUSD mentor program to help Los Angeles high school seniors prepare their personal statements for college admission.
