I have completed undergraduate and graduate degrees in Religion and Philosophy, respectively. My specialization lies mainly in continental philosophy, modern philosophy, and postmodernism, but I am able to tutor at the intermediate level in classical and analytic philosophy as well. I tutored in a formal capacity in high school and college, and have experience leading graduate level seminars and teaching undergraduates in the British class tutor format. I am upbeat, caring, patient, attentive, and have good communication skills with kids. Most of all, however, I simply enjoy the dynamic of teaching/learning, and find one-on-one tutoring to be an especially fruitful way of achieving that end.
I played basketball for my junior high and high school basketball teams, and spent the 2008 school year coaching a local frosh team. Basketball is my oldest and most time-tested passion, and I consider coaching to be the single most-fulfilling thing I've done. If you're looking for someone to help with your shot mechanics, dribbling skills, footwork or general knowledge of basic sets and terminology, then I'd be happy to oblige.
Regarding music, I have been playing guitar for over 10 years and am more than comfortable teaching beginners the basics.
