As a second-career teacher, who also teaches students with special needs (I am a fully credentialed special education specialist), I am committed to the success of the whole child. I believe in not giving answers, but guiding students to figure out the answers for themselves, leading to higher self-esteem, confidence and practice in cognitive thinking. I believe that relevancy is the key to successful learning and my teaching methods are engaging, fun and informative. I have had multiple tutoring experiences, teaching mostly English comprehension, fluency, grammar, writing and vocabulary (I am also a published writer) and will teach up to 4 students in a group or solo. As a classroom teacher, I have taught 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th grades, middle school and high school in standard curricula, life and social skills, transition, and social and emotional learning.
