As a higher education professional for the past 17 years, my philosophy has to do with maximizing the potential in all students. I am a professor at Brandman University (Chapman University System) teaching courses in research and statistics at the bachelor's, master's and doctoral levels. My approach to teaching involves the use of concrete and specific examples followed by immediate assessment. The goal is to close "gaps" in learning to ensure that each student develops a competency and mastery of the material. I have 45 credit hours in research and statistics covering undergraduate and graduate work. I serve as a contributing scholar for the Journal of Children and Schools through the National Association of Social Workers, Oxford University Press.
