I have taken all of the required courses to become a licensed teacher in California. I moved to Florida before I could do my 5th year of student teaching. While in Florida I continued my education courses with reading as my main focus. While there I worked as a reading specialist for two years. I did individual tutoring after school and in the summer. In the classroom I worked with small groups, and individual students depending on the student's age and needs. I use a variety of methods when tutoring. The method I use depends on the needs of the student. In some cases I use the material provided by the student, and in other cases I use some of my own materials. I always include the parents so that they are aware of what their child needs to work on in my absence, and to appraise them of their child's progress.
