I am a patient, student-focused tutor that is passionate about seeing students grasp math and chemistry concepts and use them confidently. The students I have tutored have improved and even excelled in their classes. If you or your son or daughter are struggling in pre-algebra, algebra 1 or 2, geometry, or chemistry, I would love to work with you. I will help you understand your current work as well as identify any areas of confusion from previous study. I am good at identifying fundamental skills that are weak or missing and strengthening them with instruction and targeted practice. You can understand and even excel in math and chemistry!

My qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Washington, and 6+ years of experience tutoring middle school and high school students. I have also prepared students to pass the CAHSEE. I am available morning, afternoons or evenings, and am happy to travel to a convenient location for you.

Algebra doesn't have to be difficult. Whether it is solving and graphing equations, solving systems of equations or factoring, I can clear up confusion and help you excel in the subject. I have tutored many students to success in algebra.

Even for those students who found algebra 1 easy, algebra 2 can be a challenge. I have tutored a number of students to success in algebra 2 with a threefold approach. I make sure algebra 1 fundamentals are strong; I make sure algebra 2 concepts are understood and I show students how to keep their work organized on the long, involved problems. Algebra 2 can be very satisfying once you understand and begin to apply the concepts.

Chemistry can appear difficult because there is quite a little math involved. But once you see how atoms and molecules are accounted for, the math is much easier. My background is in chemical engineering and so I've taken 3 years of college chemistry. I've also tutored a number of students to success in chemistry and I can help you as well.

I recently tutored my own daughter through a whole year of geometry because she wasn't getting it from her high school teacher. We worked through proofs in a calm, step by step fashion and she learned to take apart difficult diagrams so that she could more easily see how to think about the problem. Geometry builds on what has already been learned so let's get started and not waste another day being lost!

Pre-algebra covers many math skills basic to success in algebra. I help students master topics such as integers, decimals, fractions, exponents, ratios, and solving equations. I can assess problem areas and provide the extra practice needed to make algebra a whole lot easier.

Precalculus can be a challenge, especially if fundamentals learned in algebra 2 grew a bit fuzzy over the summer. I can help you refresh and strengthen the algebra 2 fundamentals, and then we can build on those to help you excel in handling functions, logs, exponentials and trigonometry. I have tutored many students to success in this subject through patient instruction as we follow the rules of math. Let's get started.

SAT math is not terribly difficult. But it does require a solid reviewing of algebra 1 and geometry and some subjects from algebra 2. In addition, it is important to know how to set up problems. If variables are labeled and properly related to one another, the solution is much easier to find. Let's start reviewing and improve your SAT score!

Super Tutor — We have only good things to say about Ann. She tutored our 10th grader in Honors Chemistry and we saw measurable improvement in her grades - by several levels, culminating in an "A." Ann is very patient and kind; she is also extremely dependable - always on time, with plenty of advance notice if she had to shift the schedule a bit. Our daughter is also currently working through SAT math review w ...
