Hello! I am graduating in June and am looking to tutor in chemistry, and biology. I attend the University of California, Irvine and am majoring in Developmental and Cell Biology with a minor in Earth and Atmospheric Science. My career goal is to become a physician hopefully in the pediatric department.
I have never tutored in any organized manner or through a website, however, I have tutored many friends and colleagues who have asked for it. I feel that the best way to learn anything new is through repetition. I like to go through some examples first where I show my student how these steps are done, what is going on, and more importantly WHY it is that I am doing whatever step I am doing in a problem. I feel that most people get the "what", and the "how", but it's the "why" part that ensure that the understanding of the topic at hand is sufficient. I go through examples heavily at first, but I then turn the table on my student, and give them a lot of questions to do on their own or even have them walk me through a couple of examples so I can see if they understand the material enough to teach it. If they can teach it, they know it. I am looking forward to working with all of you and hopefully you will gain a very fun, enlightening experience through this tutoring, and that A+!!!
