I love teaching. It's always my delight to see someone through a hurdle, and I will go through great pains to see one succeed in his goal. As long as a student has a desire to learn, I believe it is the teacher's responsibility to impart knowledge to him or her.
As far as I can recall, I have had tremendous success teaching both science and art. In fact, I don't see much difference between both fields. My structured science education as well as professional work experience and my love for the arts places me in a unique position to effectively communicate almost any subject. I can reach technical and non technical people and help them broaden their education as well as learning skill.
I blend structure with creativity. I usually set the road map for a student, however I will alter it where necessary to suite him. I continually evaluate progress as well as obtain feedback from my students so as to achieve the learning objective. I can be counted on to give a sincere assessment of a situation and prescribe the reachable goals that people are looking for.
I obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science with a minor concentration in Management Information Systems from Saint Bonaventure University New York. On my graduation, I was awarded a Computer Science medal for scholastic accomplishment. I worked as an Higher Education Equal Opportunity student tutor during my student days.
My wealth of knowledge includes a 10 year professional career in Information Technology, working as a Software Engineer and Programmer Analyst. Besides computer programming, I would analyze and document business processes as well as give presentations to diverse user groups. I also had the opportunity to mentor and train other development staff. I have proficiency in a multitude of software tools.
I accepted the challenge to learn Spanish when the Hispanic population in the South Bay of Los Angeles grew. I was able to skip the beginning level college class because I started learning on my own. I subsequently completed two semesters of college Spanish at Los Angeles Harbor College worth 10 transferable college units. I obtained A's in Spanish levels 2 and 3. My love for personal development also inspired me to take 2 semesters of Presentation Graphics and Web Design where I similarly excelled.
I am an aspiring pianist, guitarist, singer, and songwriter. I am just one class short of obtaining a diploma in musical arts. My GPA at Los Angeles Harbor College is about 3.9.
As a college tutor, I have helped other students move up from a D letter grade to an A. I look forward to doing much more for you or your loved one.
