Reading, Writing, Speaking issues? I CAN HELP!

I have been an English teacher for 20 years and I have taught middle, high school and college level students in the areas of Reading, Composition and Literature. I have taken classes in the current methodologies of K-12 education and I also coach, tutor and volunteer with an organization that promotes reading in the lower grade levels. I have worked with children of all ages and with several who have specific special needs; I am competent in differentiated instruction and because of the variety of courses that I have taught, I have a vast supply of materials suitable for any writing or reading level.

In addition to my professional life, I run marathons, I play soccer AND I coach... I am mom to three boys who are 15, 12 and 6. I have taught middle school, high school and am currently teaching college students. I can cook, read, run, jump rope, tell you about old films, count to 1000 in Spanish. I have been to MANY countries outside of the U.S. and, I learned how to swim in the Red Sea. I've flown a plane, scuba dived and been on an aircraft carrier. I love Dirty Jobs and I like to water the lawn myself instead of using the sprinklers. I do not believe in the easy way out and I never wanted to be anything but a teacher... 20 years later and I love what I do. I hope that I can help you...

I hold a valid single subject teaching credential in English. I have taught Reading, Writing and Phonics to students in grades K-12 as well as to college students in Basic Skills classes.

I have taught study skills at the high school and at the college level; I am well versed in the instruction of academic strategies.

Public Speaking

I am an English teacher with 20 years of experience in the classroom. I have also conducted workshops in writing instruction and curriculum development. I have a great deal of experience in organization and group management skills, as well as in techniques for presenting information.
