Hello fellow aspiring students!
My name is Lauren. I am currently a student at California State University of Domínguez Hills, and I am a double major in Psychology and Spanish Linguistics, looking to get my single-subject teaching credentials in Spanish and Masters in Applied Linguistics/Spanish. I am currently in my senior year for both majors and will be graduating this semester, Spring '13.
I have done very well in all my Spanish coursework, even though I am not a native speaker. Being a non-native speaker has its great advantages in composition and creates a different outlook on language learning. To help myself learn Spanish, I have created different methodologies that I can apply in my tutoring sessions. I completely understand the importance of second-language learning and have been creating my own tools and activities for my future classrooms.
For Psychology, I can help with projects, understanding basic theories, and helping with chapter assessments (quizzes), if needed.
I have also had great success with other college subjects: English(composition, reading, grammar), and Algebra.
I am a fun person that loves to help people learn. Teaching is my calling because I am passionate, understanding, and persistent; I believe a combination of the preceding ideas creates a positive, effective environment.
Thank you!
Update 1-13-13:
Thank you for considering me for your tutoring needs. I am unfortunately unable to schedule children in primary and secondary school for the time being -- I have school Mon-Thurs nights. I apologize for any inconvenience.
