I have a Ph.D. in chemistry from Stanford University and have eight years of professional experience in the pharmaceutical industry. While at Stanford, I served as a teaching assistant for introductory and advanced organic chemistry. My eight years of industrial experience at Amgen reinforced my expertise in this field.
In addition to college-level organic chemistry, I also can tutor high school chemistry and junior high school and high school math. I took several advanced math courses during my undergraduate education at Harvey Mudd College. These included multivariable calculus and differential equations. In addition, I tutored local high school students during my undergraduate years in math and science.
My goal and methods are simple: To help each student I tutor better understand the subject matter at hand. I do this by explaining specific concepts and/or by helping the students work through specific problems which reinforce these concepts.
My hours are flexible, as is my location preference. I am willing to travel to a student's house or meet at a public library. I certainly look forward to helping local students improve their understanding of chemistry and math concepts!
