We had our first session to get introduced to Greek. Helen was wonderful. In one session she introduced me to the Greek alphabet, the pronunciation of each letter, and example words. I very quickly realized the value of a live tutor over just using the Internet. I had watched YouTube videos and visited several "Intro to Greek" websites. They all have different ways of pronouncing and demonstrating Greek alphabet and words. Gets quite confusing. We also went over basic phrases in Greek - Hello, How are you, Good morning, Good evening, I am sorry, my name is, what is your name, etc. Helen also carefully and clearly wrote down the alphabet, words, and phrases. For each she wrote the Greek, an English transliteration, and the English equivalent.

I had a very educational session, and it was a lot of fun too.

Great tutor! Look forward to a couple more sessions before my trip.

After my trip I hope to be able to read Socrates, in the original (Plato), someday.

How do I receive a discount?

Save between 5 and 15% on tutoring by purchasing credit with one of our prepaid discount packages. You can buy one of our standard 5, 10 or 15% packages or customize your own package based on how much tutoring you need. The credit you purchase can be used towards any tutor at any time and does not expire. If you do not use the entire package, we will simply deduct what you did spend on tutoring from your original purchase price and give you a refund. Discount packages start as low as $190.
