My appreciation and enjoyment of teaching comes from a profound belief that learning should be rewarding, inspiring, and intellectually stimulating. I enjoy working with children and adolescents in a tutoring setting since I deeply believe that our ability and potential for learning is particularly limitless at a young age and I like to facilitate that learning. Everyone is capable of learning even the most difficult concepts when they are explained in a simple manner and when the willingness to dedicate time and effort to learning are present. My experience tutoring high school students and elementary children with the program America Reads and Counts has given me the skills necessary to engage my students in the work at hand and for them to comprehend the material.
I specialize in tutoring Elementary Math
, and Calculus
. I have tutored children in the past and I have done research in the area of developmental psychology
for the past 4 years. Thus, I feel very comfortable teaching children different math concepts. In high school, I performed extremely well in my Algebra and Calculus classes and I passed both of my AP Calculus
(1 and 2) exams with the maximum score possible. I enrolled at Duke University thinking that I will choose Mathematics
as my major and although I changed my career interests to developmental and abnormal psychology, I did take several advance math courses including Multivariable Calculus, Linear Algebra
, and Statistics
I am a very committed and dedicated individual who's eager to work with you or child and who will always have the student's best interests in mind when preparing lesson plans and assignments. Responsibility and reliability also characterize my persona and I have very strong work ethics.
I am looking forward to hearing from you and working together! I am located at Sunnyvale, and we could have our tutoring sessions at any library in Sunnyvale. If you live nearby, I can also do in-house tutoring.
