First and foremost, I love working with people. Learning can be very scary but also VERY EXCITING. I focus on how to overcome "Scary" and learn how to become "EXCITED" about every learning experience you undertake.
I have a diverse background teaching. Teaching both at the adult level and student level I have taught many types of classes from American History, QuickBooks, marketing, sales, writing and various software products. Looking through the student's eyes is key. I use my counseling background to help assist in opening the door for each individual student. Each student is special and each key is different.
My educational background includes a B.A. degree in American History and Government with honors from Mills College. I also have a Master's in Public Administration and a Master's in Family and Marriage Counseling. I have taught as a graduate student, as a trainer for the Entrepreneurial Center in San Jose, as an expert in business writing and marketing.
My writing skills have been the foundation for ALL my teaching accomplishments and awards as a entrepreneur. I won the Cisco's Grand Prize award for "Growing with Technology in Sales & Marketing" because it was a well told story. This was repeated for California's Waste Reduction award four years in a row. Without the ability to write, I would not have had the fulfilling career I have had - I would like to share this with a special student.
