I’m passionate about science and find it very rewarding to nurture students’ curiosity and interest in their natural world. My primary objectives are:
1. To inculcate good study habits and improve test taking strategies.
2. To identify academic weaknesses and tailor courses to students' needs.
3. To enhance intuitive understanding of all the diverse scientific facts so students are no longer intimidated or bored by concepts.
I try to foster an exploratory atmosphere where students feel comfortable asking questions and sharing their thoughts.
I believe in conceptual learning and strive to make connections between abstract theory and real-life applications. I always bring plenty of worksheets and multiple choice questions of the complexity level you will actually encounter in your exams.
I have excelled in diverse courses during my Bachelors, Masters and Ph. D studies, receiving amongst the highest GPA scores. I have a particularly strong foundation in Biochemistry, Genetics, Immunology and Microbiology. I received a GRE score of 2260/2400 and an advanced GRE score of 98% in Biochemistry. I have experience teaching SAT II, AP level and college biology and chemistry.
Currently, I am tutoring high school students in AP biology, AP chemistry and organic chemistry. I'm also coaching a student for the International Biology Olympiad.
Previously, I have served as a teaching assistant in several graduate level courses. I have led small group discussions with first year students in Introductory Immunology. I've delivered lectures to a class of 20 first year medical students in different concepts of clinical biochemistry. I have also enjoyed the opportunity to mentor an undergraduate student in hands-on science at my laboratory at Stanford University.
I am now filling up my summer slots so be sure to contact me at least 2 weeks before you intend to begin.
