I have been on stage in some capacity since age 5. A background in dance and musical theatre led to a BFA in acting from the University of Minnesota, Moorhead, several seasons of summer stock theatre with The Straw Hat Players, an MFA in acting from The University of Arizona, professional work in New York City, Chicago and finally a move back to Tucson. In Tucson, I have been acting and directing for the last fifteen years. I have taught acting, directing, audition technique and voice and movement at the University of Az and Pima Community College. I directed productions of Violet, Pippi Longstocking, Buried Child, James and the Giant Peach, Twelfth Night, The Importance of Being Earnest. I also worked at the nationally recognized Invisible Theatre directing such shows as Circle Mirror Transformation and Camping with Henry and Tom and acting in the one woman show The Blonde, The Brunette and the Vengeful Redhead, Gunmetal Blues, Bingo and Miracles.
I have had a life-long love affair with the art and magic of the theatre. Nothing ignites passion and curiosity in me like the grand adventure of crafting, excavating a character or guiding a student toward their own discoveries. Let me share my passion and experience with you. I am available for private coaching on specific audition pieces or for addressing vocal and physical hurdles.
My teaching style is playful, physical and bold. I encourage students to walk the tightrope, and stretch their perceptions of who they are and what they are capable of as artists.
