I am a professional chemist with 20+ years of industrial experience, mostly in pharmaceuticals and biotech. Over the years, I have taught many junior chemists and technicians the chemistry that they needed to do their job better. In addition to chemistry, I taught them about safety and everything else that they needed to know in order to perform as fully functional members of my teams.
I bring a knowledge of real-world applications of the concepts that are taught, and I use that real-world knowledge to help me get my message across to students that I teach or tutor. During the past three years I have been teaching high school chemistry for home-school students, and by and large my students have learned the material and concepts that i have taught them. I have also taught hands-on science classes for younger students (K-8), and I am capable of explaining the more difficult concepts such that they are easily understood even by younger students.
