ESL/ESOL

I have a Masters in English with a focus in TESOL from San Francisco State University, where I currently teach international students at the American Language Institute. I have taught classes in oral skills, classes in reading and writing, and grammar classes.
I have also tutored at SFSU’s Learning Assistance Center, working with native and multilingual students enrolled in primarily grammar and composition courses.

Grammar

I have tutored students both at San Francisco State's Learning Assistance Center and privately in English grammar. I enjoy helping people figure out the rules and understand them in a way that they don't have to do a lot of memorization!

TOEFL

For the past several years, I have been teaching international students who are preparing to attend American universities. I have taught oral skills, reading, writing, and grammar. I have helped students develop the skills necessary to be successful on the TOEFL exam and to be successful in college.

Writing

For the past few years, I have been teaching writing skills to international students preparing to enter American universities. in addition, I have tutored working professionals interested in improving their written and oral business communications. I have also helped student practice the writing skills required on the TOEFL exam.

Approved Subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. If a tutor is interested but not yet certified in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
