In May, I graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a B.A in French. For the last two years, I successfully tutored students from Los Angeles Unified School District at various grade levels in English and Mathematics. A majority of my students were from diverse cultural backgrounds, but one-on-one tutoring enabled me to relate to each student individually and satisfactorily meet their educational needs. Prior to this, I worked as software, technical instructor and end-user support trainer in various corporations and agencies. In early 1990s, Cultural Affairs Department of the City of Los Angeles awarded me two grants, 1992 and 1993, respectively. The grants enabled me to conduct workshops for children 8-12 year-olds. In the workshops, the children had the opportunity to explore their artistic abilities in drawing, poetry and drama. They were featured in a radio theatrical performance based on their work. I credit my success thus far to my artistic creativity, my patience, flexibility and willingness to share my knowledge with the young curious minds.
