I hold a Bachelor of Music degree (Guitar Performance) from the Swinney Conservatory of Music at Central Methodist University in Fayette, MO. Over the years, I have performed in various genre’s that include Folk, Jazz, Pop & Blues. I’m an award-winning songwriter with two critically acclaimed song collections to my credit, Scarecrows Burn (1996) and Love Songs from the Outskirts of Bliss (2001).
In my home studio, I have produced generic underscore music for TV and Film, with placements that include American Idol, Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations and the Investigation Discovery series, Disappeared, among others.
I believe that the guitar is one of the easiest instruments to play while being one of the hardest instruments to play well. A student can learn to play songs by ear, or can learn the fundamentals of melody & harmonic structure. A firm understanding of music theory is, in my estimation, essential to making the transition from novice to advanced student. Be that as it may, whether the potential student is a beginner interested in guitar as a hobby, an intermediate seeking to become advanced or has an interest in composition & song structure, I can help.
