As a tutor, I am certified in many fields ranging from Mathematics, Social Studies, English and Biological Sciences. I am very patient and sympathetic. My general approach for tutoring is to identify the fundamental skills necessary to conquer the respective subject prior to diving into the actual material. Afterwards I "walk" through the particular problems on which the students are struggling on. And in the midst of going through the problems or examples I ensure that the students are completely comprehending the concepts behind the subjects. But, if for any given reason this method does not prove effective I resort to a more simplified approach by relating the different problems to real life situations that appeal to the students. In certain subject areas however, those two techniques are not quite appropriate, so to help the student learn the material I use flashcards or other interactive learning techniques such as jeopardy or even charades. Overall, I have an extensive background in tutoring at Stagg High School's Homework Help Center. In addition to that, I've also worked with many Delta College students - henceforth, my experience at both Stagg and Delta have built up my tutoring techniques and also given me proper experience in how to thoroughly and effectively tutor. In conclusion, I honestly enjoy the art of educating and am pursuing a degree as a teacher.
