Hello Student - It's great to meet you!

I am a certified and experienced ESL tutor working towards a Bachelor's degree in English to become an ESL teacher. My students' native languages include Spanish, Arabic, and Korean. I understand and help them get through the frustrations of written and conversational English, also known as verb conjugation, and it gives me great satisfaction to see the improvement of students over time. As a native English speaker I understand the challenges facing the student new to one of the world's most common languages. It is my goal to assist the student in every aspect using a variety of methods including worksheets I have kept from my prior tutoring. Reference is readily available upon contact.

English has always been a good subject for me. When it comes to grammar I can notice misspellings, where the apostrophe, comma goes, etc. When I read a sentence that does not seem right to me I re-read it and observe where such things as punctuation could be missing.

Spelling has always come easy for me.
On the occasions where some words are closely spelled I am normally aware of this -
If I am having difficulty, I will sound out the word before resorting to a dictionary.

ESL/ESOL

I have been a volunteer ESL tutor for the past year and a half - 2 years through the Laubach program. The majority of the students I have worked with speak Spanish, the minority, about 4-6 persons, whose first language is Arabic. My focus with them has been pronunciation in speaking, in addition to reading and writing. Methods of instruction include flash cards, workbooks, picture and written dictionary for fast translation. Flute

I possess 5+ years experience playing the flute in middle school and high school marching band. I am proficient in reading sheet music, key placement and octave tone.
