Hello! I look forward to meeting you and talking with you about your children's needs. I have a strong background in the area of educational psychology, child and adolescent development, and teaching children and adolescents with learning challenges.
My educational experience includes a strong research-based program in Educational Psychology and Human Development, beginning in my undergraduate work in psychology; delving more in depth with a Master of Science degree in educational psychology; and culminating in a Doctor of Education degree from the University of Southern California. My passion is research and teaching students in the area of learning and developmental processes, and teaching special populations in inclusive environments. Other areas of interest include: literacy and self-regulation.
My experience includes a diverse background in working with children and adolescents from infancy through high school. This includes the founding of my own school, which included students of various cultural backgrounds with learning, behavioral, and emotional challenges as well as those with physical disabilities.
My teaching background at the University level includes undergraduate and graduate courses taught in Special Education, Parenting, Research Methods, Educational Psychology, and Human Development. I have taught with the University of La Verne and currently with the University of Southern California. My experience includes teaching diverse student populations in both a face-to-face classroom format as well as online in the USC Master of Teaching Program (MAT). I hold a B.S. in Psychology, a M.S.Ed., Educational Psychology, and a Doctorate of Education. Additionally, my experience includes an extensive background in working with children with diverse needs. This includes the founding of a small school, which included students of diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds with learning, behavioral, and emotional challenges. The inclusive program I developed took on a pro-social approach and focused on research based practices in promoting the learning process. A critical component to the program was the provision of opportunities toward the development of responsibility, communication, and literacy skills, which were embedded into all activities. I teach at the university level in the Master of Arts in Teaching program.

I recently completed serving as Acting Director of a local Early Childhood Education Program in South Pasadena, California. This program is an educationally structured, inclusive program with a capacity of 96 children. Families served include those with typically developing children and others referred by the Regional Centers who require early intervention services for their children. Many of the children were identified as on the Spectrum. In my working capacity I supervised 17 teachers.
