I have been teaching and tutoring for over twenty years.

I can teach you the following subjects quickly and thoroughly so that you are competent in them, as long as you have the will the learn:

1)AP American History, AP World History, AP European History
2)Honors/Regular American History, World History, European History, Ancient History
3)Government/Politics
4)English, European, World, American Literature
5)Philosophy, Ancient and Modern
6)Basic Economics
7)French, basic Japanese
8)All sports, especially basketball, baseball, football
9)Karate and self-defense (I am a 5th degree Master); Yoga

You may learn more than one subject at a time.

I have a good sense of humor, so you'll be relaxed and have fun while you learn. But I also will expect you to be serious in your endeavors, and at all times respect me, as I will you.

All the subjects listed above I have taught and practiced for many years. I have former students all over the world, since I lived in Europe and Asia for twenty years. I have been teaching in private college prep schools here in Valley for the past nine years (I can easily provide you with references from those schools).

Also, it might interest you to know that I volunteer as a basketball and baseball coach at my local Recreational Center, and at my daughter's elementary school. I have passed the Background Check as required by the County of Los Angeles Recreational Centers.

You will be expected to come to our session fully prepared, with all necessary material I request from you. However, often you will use my own material, including books and workbooks, especially if you are an AP or Philosophy student.

The most important three things I ask for you to bring are 1) Your mind; 2) Desire to learn; and 3) Perseverance.
I will work you hard, and you will enjoy every minute of it.

I have often been called a great teacher, but such claims are an exaggeration. For I always still consider myself a student of whatever I teach, as well as of whom I teach.

Good luck! I hope we can learn together.

Mr. K

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
