I am a fun and exciting Tutor, that enjoys working with kids that need assistance in a specific subject. I specialize in elementary Math, English, Reading, and Writing, ranging from K-5th grade. I am also bilingual in Spanish, and able to provide tutoring classes in Spanish, and in the subject of Spanish. I have been tutoring for the past 6 years, of which I have acquired essential skills to achieve a great outcome in tutoring sessions. In addition, for the past 4 years I have been a Substitute Teacher in grades K-12th, which has allowed me exposure to classroom management scenarios.

I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from California State University at Los Angeles. My professional experience background is in Human Resources and Payroll Management. I am honored to say that I also obtained my Notary certification in July 2008. Having worked in the Business and Education fields, has giving me the valuable experience and knowledge in time management, planning, organizing, and interpersonal skills. I feel very confident that I have the ability to apply the skills I have acquired to fulfill the role of an exemplary tutor.

I believe that learning can be really fun, if the student feels that you are at their pace and level. Understanding and targeting the weak spots in the student's academic flaw, is a great beginning in creating a successful pathway in achieving that particular tutoring session a success. I have been able to assist the student with difficulty with division, by using various methods. With a particular student that was having a really hard time understanding division and its concepts, I played a video, learned a song that went along with the rules of a division problem, tried examples on a board, and practiced many examples. After a few trial and error examples, the student was able to smile and made a comment that division was not as difficult as it appeared. I also apply the same methods to other subjects as well, so that I can keep the student busy the entire tutoring session. I have also had the opportunity to Tutor students with a specialized Individualized Education Program, known as an IEP, of which required a lot of diligence and patience, due to their challenges in the academic field.

Making tutoring fun and achieving effective results is my goal! Positive interactions with students during tutoring, can achieve them understand fundamentals in the subjects, they are having challenges with. I truly believe that I can be an asset, in the lives of many students that need assistance in understanding that, Learning Can Be Really Fun.
