I attended Aoyama Gakuin University in Tokyo, Japan, for my undergraduate education, and after graduating from Aoyama Gakuin University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics, I received a Master's in Business Administration (MBA) at Aoyama Gakuin University.
From 2002 to 2013, I taught Japanese language, culture, politics, and history full-time at the Foreign Service Institute in Arlington, Virginia to U.S. State Department employees (diplomats) assigned to work for the U.S. Embassy and Consular Offices in Japan. I received the Dean's Coin in Recognition of Excellence Award several times. For several years, I also taught Japanese part-time in the evenings as an adjunct professor at the Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) in Northern Virginia.
